Alan was a Theosophist, as a result of which he introduced many metaphysical concepts into astrology, such as karma and reincarnation. He created an astrological box in the Theosophical Society, designed to publish, translate and distribute astrology works throughout Europe and America.
As a pseudonym, he took his ascending sign. A. Leo became interested in astrology at the age of 25, was engaged in self-education, and in 1888 met the astrologer F.U. Lacey.
He was tried twice on charges of fraud, witchcraft, witchcraft and false prophecy. In the first case, in May 1914 he was acquitted thanks to technical formalities; but the second time, in July 1917, A. Leo was sentenced to a heavy fine. The judge was not convinced by the defense arguments that A. Leo deeply believes in what he is doing and that there are many famous personalities among his clients. These judicial histories, by their very nature, differed little from religious persecution. Some of A. Leo's friends associated with these persecutions his death from a brain hemorrhage that followed on November 1, 1917.
A. Leo brought astrology to his modern scientific level, attracted attention to it in Europe and the USA. His textbooks, which became classical, caused an avalanche of subsequent publications around the world. A. Leo is called "the father of astrology of the XX century." His predictions regarding the development of life during the transitional period of the Aquarian era are surprisingly accurately carried out in our time. He predicted the integration of European states, the formation of associations of states as the first stage on the path to world government. In the XIX century. during the period of unbridled chanting of the power of science and technology, he talked about the problem of environmental pollution. A. Leo also predicted the formation of the United Nations.
